Soccer Coach Certification

Most leagues and Rec Depts require youth coaches to get a basic coaching certification. Many also require a criminal history back ground check. Both are good ideas.

Check with your league and find out what they require. Most now offer an online intro course for beginners.

It is VITAL to remember on thing....

Many soccer coaches think that these courses will teach you WHAT to teach, when in fact they really show you HOW to teach and the basic principles of being a good coach.
Youth soccer coaches need to "learn on their own" when it comes to skills training. It is vital that you expose yourself to videos, articles, books and watching other experienced coaches.
This is the ONLY way you will improve.
